about

First RPM - submitted at 11:58pm 🙂
'Amy Cello' is what I'm saved as in Maria Cherwick's phone, and is how many people in the music community know me. This RPM is dedicated to her and Carole Emily Bee, two amazing trad/classical musicians and friends who encourage me to dive into the trad world, and who play with me in our folk band Lady Lupin.
I am a classical cellist who has started playing more trad music by ear, something that is terrifying to me also and rewarding! On Feb 27 I decided I would try and record a few arrangements and here is what happened!
1. Tennessee Waltz - one of the first tunes I ever learned on guitar/cello, was the first tune I ever led at a session
2. Lillian's Jig - a beautiful tune written by the incredible Maria Cherwick
3. La Promeneuse - taught to me by Elsie Gawler at Maine Fiddle Camp
4. Maison de Glace - first tune I was able to pick out by ear at a session
5. Belcher's Reel - arranged by Daniel Hawkins, also picked this one up recently from the Maine Fiddle Camp
